“The ideal blend of business acumen and science/technology know-how.”

At SciTech Consulting, we provide science and technology evaluation and consulting services to a diverse group of business entities concerned with the scientific and technological aspects of their respective products and services.

No business is too large or too small for us to lend a helping hand.

Equally important, we address the science and technology concerns of our clients in ways that they can fully understand and appreciate. In other words, plain talk: Keeping science and tech jargon to a palatable minimum.

Our goal: Converting business opportunity into commercial success.

About Prof. Don R. Mueller:

“Dr. Don” as he is known by his students, has more than 15 years of consulting experience in areas concentrating on business-related applications of chemistry and physics.

His consulting work has also led him into domains focusing on the science and tech concerns of companies involved with biotechnology, environmental science, food science and the public’s understanding of science and health education.

At SciTech Consulting, Don has been afforded numerous opportunities to “Flex his Science & Tech Muscles.”

During his tenure, Don has made valuable contributions to more than 100 scientific and technical documents, including: journal articles, business plans and proposals, U.S. patent and trademark applications, research grants and various items used for presentations, lectures and seminars.

Educational Background:

Don received a B.A. in Chemistry from SUNY at Buffalo and a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ).

He was a Post-Doctoral Scholar in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS) in Taipei, Taiwan.

Don is proficient with a variety of methods used in spectroscopy (lasers, AA, UV-Vis, IR, NMR, FTIR), chemical separations (HPLC, GC), electrochemistry (polarography and potentiometry), surface analysis (STM) and thermal analysis (TGA, DSC).

He is experienced with numerous scientific and technical resources: (Monographs, Journals, Reviews, Handbooks, Chemical Databases and Government Documents.)

Don is a skilled presenter of science and technology concepts and principles to various audiences: university/college and business-related.  He is an innovative thinker with an ample supply of imaginative, useful ideas to enhance product development, testing and marketing.

Academic and Business-Related Activities:

In addition to his work at SciTech Consulting, Don has been both an adjunct professor and a visiting professor at several colleges and universities, teaching a variety of courses in chemistry, physics and math. He has also taught courses in the Microsoft Office System (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

He wrote a regular column “Ask Doctor Bones – Your Science Questions” for the Hudson Valley Business Journal and several science- and technology-related articles for the Westchester Business Journal.

Two of Don’s innovations were addressed in a feature article in the New York Times (August 24, 2009).

He is a past member of the Venture Association of New Jersey (VANJ) and the New York Venture Group (NYVG).

In his continuing effort to educate the public on important concepts and principles in science and health, “Dr. Don” becomes “Doctor Bones – The Science and Health Educator/Entertainer.”
